Bunny Johnson the first Black British Heavyweight Champion

On 13th January 1975, Bunny Johnson made boxing history by knocking out Danny McAlindon to become Britain's first Black Heavyweight Boxing Champion. He is guaranteed his place in the British boxing record books not only for his achievements in winning the heavweight championship, but also for taking the light heavyweight championship together with a coveted Lonsdale Belt.

Here, he will be writing about some of the fighters that have impressed and inspired him through his long career on his journey to becoming Britain's first black heavyweight champion, as well as offering opinions on the current boxing scene. For fans, there are records, interviews, a merchandise section - with a range of photos and autographs - and there are even details on his public speaking work.

Bunny now co-owns an on-line business (SportingCelebs.co.uk) supporting rising and established sporting stars to promote themselves via the web. Sporting Celebs aims to help stars showcase their talent and take control of what their fans / audiences get to see about them.  Among his many activities, he presently works within the community supporting young people who have an interest in sport.
